We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Transformation Business Analyst (Workday Financials Implementation) to play a key leadership role in the end-to-end delivery of a Workday Financial Management system within a Financial Institution. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Data and Technology, leading requirements definition, data design, and functional solutioning to deliver a robust, compliant and scalable Workday Finance platform.
The successful candidate will take a leadership role across the full Workday implementation lifecycle, including analysing and decomposing existing finance processes, data structures and reporting frameworks. You will collaborate closely with Finance stakeholders, Workday functional leads, data architects and integration teams to design a scalable TO-BE operating model aligned to Workday best practice.
A core component of the role will be data modelling and financial data transformation. You will work with technical data modellers to define and construct target data models aligned to Workday’s architecture, including:
You will ensure that finance data structures support statutory, regulatory and management reporting requirements while enabling enhanced analytics and operational insight.
You will lead and actively participate in Discovery and Design phases with the Workday implementation partner, translating Business Requirements and Target Operating Model (TOM) principles into detailed functional design documentation and Workday configuration specifications. This includes aligning requirements to Workday modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Asset Management, Expenses and Financial Reporting.
A core part of the role involves advanced requirements engineering — eliciting, analysing and validating stakeholder, business, data and solution requirements (functional and non-functional), documenting these as user stories and functional specifications with clear acceptance criteria, and ensuring full vertical and horizontal traceability through configuration, integrations, data migration, testing and deployment.
You will play a key role in data migration and reconciliation strategy, including source-to-target mapping, data cleansing requirements, validation rules, financial balance reconciliation and parallel run support to ensure data integrity and audit readiness at go-live.
In addition, you will contribute to business case development, feasibility assessments and solution evaluation, including risk and impact analysis, cost-benefit assessment and stakeholder engagement to support governance and investment decisions. Strong strategic analysis capability is required, including assessing regulatory drivers, cloud ERP implementation strategies, and transformation risks associated with financial data and control environments.
The role requires documentation of both AS-IS and TO-BE processes and data models using BPMN, UML, ERD or similar modelling standards. You will ensure alignment between business processes, system configuration and underlying financial data structures. You will manage BA deliverables across the Workday programme lifecycle, escalating risks, data integrity concerns and scope changes where appropriate.
You will also support change and business readiness activities by identifying impacts across finance processes, IT systems, reporting frameworks and organisational structures. This includes supporting SIT, UAT and reconciliation cycles, training coordination and post-go-live stabilisation.
As an active participant in the organisation’s BA practice, you will operate in line with the Bank’s Risk Management framework and regulatory compliance policies, ensuring robust financial controls, auditability and governance throughout the Workday implementation.
The ideal candidate will bring:
Workday Financials certification or hands-on configuration experience would be highly advantageous. Experience within the Financial Services sector is strongly preferred.
If you are a strategic, data-driven and delivery-focused Business Analyst with deep Workday Finance and data modelling expertise who thrives in complex, regulated environments and enjoys shaping large-scale finance transformation programmes, we would be delighted to hear from you.
