Context

The strategy of Anglo American is to secure, develop and operate a portfolio of high quality and long-life resource assets to deliver leading shareholder returns. The Separation Management Office (SMO) plays a critical role in delivering strategic portfolio simplification initiatives across Anglo American – one of the three key strategic mandates. The team ensures seamless planning and execution of separation programmes, enabling business continuity, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation and value creation.


Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Separation Manager and SMO team, ensuring effective coordination, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of separation programme activities.


Key responsibilities include:

Project Management

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and governance forums.
  • Maintain programme documentation, timelines and trackers.
  • Support preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
  • Log risks and issues as they arise, as well as tracking mitigation actions and escalate unresolved issues.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Assist with stakeholder communications and engagement.
  • Ensure timely updates and responses to internal and external queries.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and alignment.

Governance Support

  • Help organise and run governance forums and check-ins.
  • Track action items and ensure timely completion.
  • Support reporting and escalation processes.

Other Key Tasks

  • Support onboarding of new functional leads/business representatives or team members.
  • Assist with knowledge management and documentation.
  • Contribute to team culture and collaboration.
  • Foster a constructive and productive working environment. Support team delivery and collaboration.
  • Understand and support programme processes and systems. Assist in improving documentation and delivery workflows.


Requirements

  • Experience in a administrative, project support or related field
  • Stakeholder coordination experience
  • Ability to work closely with consultants
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and produce clear summaries
