This role supports the effective operation of our SHEQ frameworks, audits and site compliance activities—playing a key part in ensuring our business operates safely, efficiently and in line with industry best practice.

Based at our Knowsley headquarters, you’ll provide systems, audit and facilities-related SHEQ support across the UK & Ireland, with specific responsibility for our offices, workshops and stores.

Be a Key Driver of SHEQ Excellence

As our SHEQ Systems & Compliance Advisor, you’ll work closely with the SHEQ Director, operational teams and site‑based SHEQ Leads to ensure our systems remain accurate, compliant and reflective of real‑world operations. You’ll help keep our ISO certifications audit‑ready, champion good practice, and support a positive SHEQ culture across the business.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys structured systems work and hands‑on operational support in equal measure.

  • Maintain and update the company’s SHEQ management systems (including Gensuite) to ensure accuracy and alignment with operational needs.
  • Upload audit findings, actions, incidents, inspections, risk assessments and continuous improvement entries.
  • Maintain dashboards, trackers and evidence libraries to support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance.
  • Ensure Gensuite workflows function correctly, escalating system issues or improvement opportunities.
  • Provide basic user support to employees and managers.

Audit & Assurance

  • Maintain the Knowsley site audit plan and coordinate audit activity across offices, workshops and stores.
  • Support internal SHEQ audits and monitor adherence to procedures.
  • Participate in external audits from clients, certifying bodies and authorities.
  • Track audit actions and support operational teams to ensure timely close‑out.

Inductions, Training & Committees

  • Lead SHEQ inductions for all new starters.
  • Support SHEQ‑related training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
  • Take part in HSEQ Committee meetings.
  • Support the business’s Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) initiatives.

Operational & Facilities Support

  • Provide SHEQ oversight for Knowsley offices, workshops and stores.
  • Assist the Facilities Coordinator with inspections, contractor control, corrective actions and documentation.
  • Support facilities activities across site.
  • Support risk assessments, including COSHH.
  • Lead the completion of PQQ submissions.

Systems, Documentation & Process Support

  • Assist with the creation, review and updating of SHEQ documentation, procedures and forms.
  • Support handover processes across Sales → Projects → Service.
  • Help operational SHEQ Leads with system updates, evidence gathering and action management.

General Responsibilities

  • Contribute to SHEQ improvement initiatives and cultural development across the organisation.
  • Undertake ad hoc work to support the smooth running of the SHEQ function.

  • What You’ll Bring

    Essential

    • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards it).
    • Experience working with SHEQ systems, audits or compliance activities.
    • Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Clean UK driving licence.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally.

    Desirable

    • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
    • Internal auditor qualification.
    • Experience in engineering, manufacturing or facilities environments.
    • CDM exposure.
