Amco-Giffen is a leading principal contractor delivering a diverse range of infrastructure projects, renewals, and maintenance frameworks for key clients including Network Rail and Transport for Wales. Our work spans across sectors such as rail, environment, and local authorities, involving projects like bridge reconstruction, station upgrades, tunnels, embankments, and footbridge schemes.
Our portfolio includes:
- Rail infrastructure projects, minor works, and frameworks
- Bridge re-construction and refurbishment
- Station access improvements (including access for all)
- Structures such as tunnels, bridges, and footbridges

The Role
As a Site Agent, you will be pivotal in delivering a portfolio of new build footbridge schemes within North and Mid-Wales, as part of our Wales and Borders team. Your leadership will ensure successful project execution, emphasising safety, quality, and efficiency on site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily site operations, including safety-critical activities
- Overseeing site safety culture and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
- Coordinating resource, plant, and material procurement
- Ensuring work is executed in line with legislation, contract terms, and health and safety plans
- Managing contract progress against programme and budget
- Liaising with site teams, surveyors, and stakeholders to monitor and report on project progress
- Identifying, managing, and implementing contract changes effectively
- Producing formal progress reports for project and contract managers
You will report to a Project Manager and be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a solid background as a Site Agent in rail and civil engineering environments, with experience in delivering access for all projects. Essential qualifications and skills include:
- SMSTS Certification
- PTS Certification
- CSCS Card
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
- Knowledge of civils, structures, and multi-disciplinary engineering within a rail environment
- A proactive attitude, excellent leadership, and a strong commitment to safety and quality are essential.
