Adult Social Worker - Erewash South Social Work Team

Join a supportive, friendly, and experienced adult social care team committed to strength-based practice and helping people live independently.

We are recruiting a Adult Social Worker to our Erewash South Team. If you are motivated, values-driven, and looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference while developing your professional practice, we would love to hear from you.

Why join us

  • A welcoming, supportive team culture that values reflection, professional curiosity, and shared learning.
  • Regular 1:1 supervision as a minimum, plus accessible informal support from peers and managers.
  • Opportunities for training, development, and progression, including support with complex practice areas.
  • A team that champions each other’s strengths and promotes wellbeing.

About The Role

You will work with adults, carers, and partner agencies to promote independence, prevent escalation of need, and ensure people achieve meaningful outcomes in line with the Care Act.

Key elements include:

  • Completing Care Act assessments, support plans, reviews, and proportionate interventions.
  • Leading Section 42 Safeguarding enquiries and applying Making Safeguarding Personal.
  • Undertaking Mental Capacity Act assessments and facilitating Best Interests Meetings.
  • Working with DoLS and Court of Protection processes.
  • Collaborating with Health, Police, Housing, and voluntary-sector partners.
  • Providing Duty cover on a rota basis to triage new referrals and respond to urgent need.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Someone confident managing a complex caseload with autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong partnership-working skills and the ability to build respectful, positive working relationships.
  • Timely, strengths-based, person-centred practice.
  • Experience in safeguarding, MCA, or court work is beneficial—but training and support will be provided.

  • What You Can Expect

    • A supportive environment where your professional judgement is trusted.
    • Varied and interesting work across the locality.
    • A team committed to continuous improvement and high-quality practice.

If you want to work somewhere where your contribution is recognised and your development truly matters, Erewash South could be the right place for you.
