About The Role

As a Social Worker within the Assessment and Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting assessments and providing appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and welfare of children.
• Working collaboratively with families to support positive change and improvement.
• Building effective relationships with children, parents, and other professionals.
• Maintaining accurate and timely records of interventions and progress.
• Attending court hearings and providing evidence when required.
• You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team, working together to achieve the best outcomes for children and families in West Berkshire.
  
  

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
• Experience working within a children and family services environment.
• Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices related to child protection and safeguarding.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
