A vacancy has arisen with our First Response Team (Adult Social Care) for a Qualified Social Worker
Are you a passionate and motivated Social Worker looking for a dynamic and rewarding opportunity? If so, you are welcome to join our First Response Team, the main access point to Adult Social Care in Merton. We are committed to providing high-quality advice, information, and support to help residents maintain their independence and reduce the need for formal care services.
Our approach is strengths-based: focusing on what individuals can do, not just what they can’t. We’re currently piloting an exciting Reablement initiative, where new applicants for care receive a therapy-led assessment aimed at promoting independence and improving wellbeing within the community.

As a Qualified Social Worker in our team, you will:
- Carry out initial assessments for residents, including safeguarding enquiries, assessments for Extra Care Supported Housing, Residential and Nursing placements, and other care needs.
- Manage a varied and fast-paced caseload, with quick turnaround times to ensure timely support for residents.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Adult Social Care, the NHS, Housing, and Mental Health services, as well as with Merton’s well-developed Third Sector and local community organisations.
