About The Role
Join Connect Plus Services and become part of the new soft estates maintenance team responsible for delivering safe and efficient operations across the M25 DBFO Network. In this role, you will carry out a wide range of soft estates works, hazard clearance, and network maintenance tasks as directed by your Line Manager, ensuring the motorway network remains safe, accessible, and compliant.
As a Soft Estate Operative Level 1, you will take ownership of soft estates maintenance activities, operating a range of plant and equipment to maintain grassed areas, vegetation, ditches, and signs while supporting the overall safety and resilience of the network.
What you'll be doing
You will undertake routine soft estates maintenance, including grass cutting, heavy vegetation clearance, arboriculture works, ditch clearance, and weed spraying. You will maintain and clear signs, operate soft estates plant such as chainsaws, chippers, Robomowers, ride-on mowers, strimmers, and hedge cutters, and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
You will accurately record and report activities using mobile communication and data devices, perform routine vehicle checks, and maintain driving records in line with legislation and CPS procedures. You will take care of CPS property, including vehicles, tablets, and radios, and raise awareness of any issues that may affect the safe operation of the network.

We are seeking a skilled, safety-conscious Soft Estate Operative Level 1 with a valid UK Driving Licence (minimum Category C/LGV Class 1), Driver Qualification Card/CPC, a current CSCS Operative Card, relevant elements of Sector Scheme 18, and registration on the Register of Land-based Operations (ROLO).
You will have proven experience working on a live motorway or All-Purpose Trunk Road (APTR) network and be fully competent operating soft estates plant, including chainsaws, chippers, Robomowers, ride-on mowers, strimmers, and hedge cutters. You will bring a proactive, hands-on approach to maintaining the network and supporting a high-performing operational team.
