Our Tax and Legal Digital Innovation (DI) team is expanding its Software Engineering capabilities. DI has a market leading reputation in London and across Europe. We are the largest of the Big 4 tax process and technology departments and demand for our services is growing rapidly. DI brings together expertise in the areas of risk, compliance and technology in order to address the challenges of multijurisdictional tax operations.

The role we’re looking to fill is a career defining opportunity for someone passionate about software engineering who wants to work alongside a world-class team of engineers, business analysts and product managers.

As part of this role your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing software solutions as part of a development team working on a product build using an Agile methodology.
• Managing your own workload and deliverables as part of a product team using DevOps tools.
• Hands-on experience with cutting-edge platforms such as Kubernetes and AI-driven development tools. You’ll deploy these technologies across our innovative product suite with full support from our comprehensive learning resources.
• Delivering a high standard of quality through automation testing and code review, and liaising with our Quality Assurance teams when they are conducting their testing;
• Participating in knowledge sharing, peer review and group meetings across our Engineering team and the wider group;

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Essential:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Systems or Computer Science or related discipline / equivalent
• Proven years of experience in software development working with the following:
• C# preferred;
• SQL databases (e.g. SQL Server);
• Front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript frameworks – Angular preferred);
• Cloud services (Azure preferred);
• Experience with GenAI development tools such as Co-Pilot,
• Experience developing multi-layered products as a full stack developer,
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Git or similar development repositories
• Experience of software development life cycle, test driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

Tax

Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international M&A, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
