Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

TTL Environment
Our ESS department is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers
Area of Responsibility
· Own diagnostics architecture for SDV: ECU & HPC diagnostics layers, SOVD gateway/interface, DTC strategy, logging, event transport, and cloud/service tooling integration.
· Define and govern UDS services (ISO 14229) and DoIP (ISO 13400): session/security, seed-key/cert-based access, routine control, DIDs, data compression, rate-limits, and error handling.
· SOVD/ASAM: specify SOVD service catalog, discovery, access control, and alignment with workshop tools and remote diagnostics.
· Variant coding & configuration: strategy for feature enablement/subscriptions, VOD/FCL/PDL schemas, CRC/cryptographic integrity, lifecycle counters, and auditability across Manufacturing, EoL, Aftersales, and OTA.
· Manufacturing & EoL: flashing strategies (parallel/cell), programming sequences, prerequisite checks, ECU state models, and golden-path success KPIs.
· Serviceability: define guided diagnostics, ODX/OTX artifacts, fault trees, test plans, and technical publications interface.
· Regulatory & compliance: OBD-II/J1979, cybersecurity (ISO 21434), functional safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE, data privacy.
· Toolchain leadership: select and integrate CANoe/CANalyzer, vFlash/Flash cells, Softing/ETAS/Vector stacks, XCP/ASAM, PDU-API, Wireshark, log/trace pipelines.
· Cross-domain integration: HPC OS (Linux/QNX/Android/RTOS) and classic AUTOSAR (and Adaptive) diagnostics; SOME/IP service diagnostics, health-monitoring, and watchdog strategy.
· Diagnostics data & analytics: event selection, rate-control, compression, on-vehicle buffering, cloud ingestion, and ML-assisted triage for fleet health.
· Leadership & governance: run the Diagnostics Working Group, author standards, perform design reviews, supplier oversight, and coach engineers.
· Verification & validation: define test strategies, HIL/SIL coverage, conformance & robustness tests, and end-to-end flash/diag reliability.
· Incident response: lead triage/RCAs for field and plant issues; implement corrective actions and spec updates.
· Lead the task of interfacing with the systems owners to determine the Diagnostics requirements for each ECU at every vehicle build.
· Work with the hardware team to understand the hardware design such as switch configuration, number of ports per protocol etc, and how it impacts the network design.
· Work with the tooling suppliers to identify and implement SDV Diagnostics communication requirements.
· Understand requirements from cyber security, diagnostics, functional safety group that impact network design and incorporate into releases.
· Support the integration team with validation and debugging of any issues related to the network.

· Ability to work with a diverse set of teams in software across various domains
Knowledge / Experience
· Technical knowledge & experience of network technologies like CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet etc.
· Knowledge of ISO 14229 (UDS), ISO 13400 (DoIP), SOME/IP, ASAM SOVD, and OBD-II/J1979.
· Strong AUTOSAR (Classic &/or Adaptive) understanding; experience with XCP, ODX/OTX, and PDU-API.
·
· Expertise with Vector (CANoe, CANalyzer, vFlash, VX/VN HW), Softing, ETAS INCA, scripting (Python), and packet analysis (Wireshark).
· Solid grasp of zonal architectures & HPCs (Linux/QNX/Android), secure access/seed-key, certificate-based auth, and OTA flows.
· Familiarity with ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO 21434, and service documentation processes.
· Experience of requirement cascade tools like DOORS, Code beamer etc.
· Experience of issue management tools like JIRA, RTC etc.
· Knowledge of connectivity options like PSI5, SENT, SPI, A2B etc and its typical uses.
· Experience of Electrical component & system specification, design, test & production.
· Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector in passenger car or defence applications, although other sectors are of interest for design, development & delivery experience
· Good understanding of the various automotive systems and sub-systems from functionality perspective
· Knowledge of ASIL rating and relevant Fusa requirements affecting hardware like redundant power supply, feedback loops etc
· Knowledge of cyber security terminology like secure boot, HSM, key management etc,
· Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture landscape in other OEMs and lessons learnt
