We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

The Cloud Environmental and Social Responsibility team is tasked with managing down Technical Infrastructure’s data center hardware supply chain emissions. We unlock reductions by developing decarbonization solutions and supplier partnerships to help achieve Google's Net Zero goals.

In this role, you will build internal tooling and externalized products to support Artificial Intelligence and Infrastructure (AI2) drive towards industry-leading carbon efficiency. You will build automation to enable the quantification, tracking, and forecasting of emissions and reductions. You will collaborate across the hyperscalers and define common best practice for doing this carbon-focused Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) modeling at scale.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Build open software to accelerate the adoption of product level footprinting across the IT hardware industry.
  • Build and scale state-of-the-art automated life cycle assessment models across Google Cloud’s entire hardware portfolio.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, leadership, engineers, program managers, and data scientists to understand business and application needs.
