Are you a qualified solicitor or barrister looking for a new challenge to specialise in commercial property in local government? If so, join our Corporate & Environmental Law team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-value, high impact legal work for the Council.

About The Role

This is a part time permanent position of 25 hours per week with the place of work based at County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford.

As a key member of our legal team, you’ll provide expert advice on a wide range of commercial property matters. You’ll support the Council’s ambitious target of securing £118.3 million in capital receipts over the next four years, working closely with service departments and senior officers on complex and rewarding projects.

This will be hybrid working with office attendance required and opportunities for some remote working, subject to the needs of the service.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Advising on commercial property transactions and legal strategies.
  • Supporting major project land developments and property disposals with some acquisitions.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
  • Contributing to the Council’s strategic goals through sound legal guidance.

Who We're Looking For

While previous commercial property and public sector experience is an advantage, it’s not essential—we provide full training and support for those new to commercial property and or local government.
