Solutions Engineer (Defence & Government Specialist)

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Solutions Engineer (Defence & Government Specialist) to join our talented Professional Services team, reporting to the Director of Professional Services and collaborating closely with the Senior Director of Government, Defence and CNI within the Sales team.

What you’ll be doing


  • As a Solutions Engineer with a Defence and Government focus, you will take advantage of your deep experience in networking and secure communications to help deliver on the Arqit vision.
  • This is a customer-focused role that will require you to deliver technical presentations and demonstrations, understand customer needs, develop and deliver solutions for live projects, and support pre-sales with active bids and engagements.
  • You will also deliver and develop training and product demonstrations, work with our R&D and product teams to help develop our services and be a customer advocate within Arqit.


What we’re looking for


  • Experience building secure networks in the context of military, defence or CNI
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer relations and presentation skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Deep understanding of software/network architectures with the ability to identify integration points rapidly
  • Ability to travel in the UK and internationally
  • Ability to work in the UK and ability to gain UK security clearance are both essential

  • Useful to have:

    • Comfortable working with Linux-based operating systems
    • Experience with cybersecurity and networking (next-gen firewalls, VPN gateways, etc.)
    • Experience of rolling out technical projects across IT platforms
    • Experience working with cloud computing platforms such as OCI, Azure and AWS
    • Experience working with containerisation platforms such as Docker
    • Ability to develop software in C++, Java and/or Python
