We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and dynamic countywide team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of an excellent example of collaborative working, providing high-quality occupational therapy interventions that promote the therapeutic use of everyday activities for children and young people.

You will work closely with a well-established multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Education and Community Paediatricians, to deliver outstanding, child-centred care.

You will be well supported by an experienced team of Occupational Therapists who offer excellent peer support, alongside a strong commitment to personal and professional development.

Main duties of the job

The post holder works as part of the Community Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service.

The post holder works autonomously with emphasis being placed on multi-disciplinary working and multi-agency collaboration and has specific responsibility for:-

Qualifications and Training

Essential

• BSc.OT or Dip.COT
• HCPC Registration
• Evidence of continued Professional Development including reflective practice, and clinical experience gained working with children and young people

Desirable

• Member of CYP&F

Experience

Essential

• Post registration experience including 12 months work at Band 5 level in Paediatric Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of common paediatric conditions e.g.) cerebral palsy and developmental co-ordination disorder and an understanding of associated conditions which will impact on intervention e.g.) epilepsy.
• Experience in the application of the OT process

Desirable

• Experience in informal and formal presentations to children, families, professionals and students.

Skills

Essential

• Demonstrates a good standard of spoken and written English
• Ability to provide written and verbal advice regarding Occupational Therapy intervention

Desirable

• Experience of involvement in previous service developments
