Specialist Physiotherapist - Neuro Rehabilitation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (0.8 WTE) permanent Physiotherapist with an interest in neuro-rehabilitation. We are looking to recruit a B6 Specialist Physiotherapist for our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital.

You will be part of a dynamic, well-established multidisciplinary team, working alongside a Clinical Lead, experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants. Our team is committed to delivering a holistic approach to patient care, ensuring high-quality outcomes in line with national guidelines.

This Band 6 role offers the chance to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the education of students and junior staff, while continuing your own professional development.

Person specification

Education, Qualification & Registration

Essential

• HCPC registration
• BSC Honours degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
• Evidence of relevant post graduate training including attendance at relevant specialist courses

Desirable

• Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
• Involvement in special interest group eg ACPIN
• Completion of relevant neuro specific courses

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• Previous postgraduate clinical experience as a junior in a broad rotational post
• Specialist knowledge of physiotherapy assessment and treatment technique
• Knowledge of local and national policies and procedures - HCPC and CSP Codes of Conduct, BSRM, NICE, Infection Control, Manual Handling, etc
• Evidence of continual professional development
• Experience of and commitment to interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary team working
• Evidence of contribution to clinical education and in-service training of less experienced staff/students and assistants
• Understanding of clinical effectiveness, including experience of quality issues, audit and evidence based practice
• Experience of supervision of students and assistants
• Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding practices relevant to the clinical area

Desirable

• To have completed a clinical educator's course
• Previous experience in a post at this level
• Previous neuro experience
• Evidence of participation in research
• Working knowledge of neuro specific local and national policies and procedures

Essential

• Demonstrates therapeutic handling skills
• Demonstrates analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills - including difficult and sensitive conversations, motivating patients
• Good organisational and planning skills
• Ability to work as a team
• Experience using IT systems and presenting
• Able to participate in on-call and weekend rotas

Desirable

• Clean driving licence and willingness to use hospital vehicles
