Full Time – 37.5 hours | 12 Month Fixed Term | Brighton

£47,810 – £54,710 per annum

Closing date: 15 March 2026

Are you a specialist practitioner with an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions?

Would you value working in a supportive, reflective team where innovation, optimism and co-production genuinely shape practice?

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Specialist Practitioner to join our Pan-Sussex Neurodevelopmental Service, based at East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre, working in a blended model of in-person and remote delivery.

About the role

You will work within a specialist service focused on autism (ASC) and ADHD, supporting improved outcomes for neurodivergent individuals across Sussex. This is an evolving and dynamic area of practice, and we are looking for someone who is curious, committed and motivated to contribute to service development.

You will manage your own diary and caseload with autonomy, while working within a clearly defined framework of expectations and having consistent access to peer support and supervision.

The team works closely with “experts by experience” and has a strong culture of co-production, reflection and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with ASC and/or ADHD

• Understands the complexities of neurodevelopmental and mental health presentations

• Is confident in risk management and integrated multi-agency working

• Enjoys learning and contributing to innovation

• Is interested in developing leadership capability

• Values lived experience and collaborative practice

If you bring skills in digital or IT-based innovation, we would particularly welcome your application.

What we offer

• A genuine opportunity to deepen specialist expertise in neurodevelopmental practice

• A flexible but clinically rich role where your skills are used every day

• Robust and meaningful managerial and clinical supervision

• A vibrant, engaged team who value reflection and shared learning

• Strong links to ongoing innovative research

• A culture of co-production and service user participation

Why Brighton?

Brighton offers coastal living with vibrant communities, strong transport links to London and Gatwick, and easy access to the South Downs. It combines professional opportunity with lifestyle flexibility.

About you

You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or other registered health professional (NMC or HCPC registered), with post-qualification experience in mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.

You will demonstrate:

• Experience of managing risk and CPA processes

• Experience of providing clinical supervision or training

• Understanding of clinical governance frameworks

• Evidence of ongoing CPD
