We have a band 6 position within our team based at Frimley Park Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working within acute stroke, acute neuro and general wards.
The role will include working as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing evidence based speech and language therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment for the acute SLT caseload. As well as developing knowledge and skills in specialist areas, undertaking role competency frameworks and mentoring/line management of junior members of staff.

Essential
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification
- HCPC registration.
Experience
Essential
- Able to demonstrate significant relevant clinical experience and in complex case management.
- Proven ability to develop and implement specialist programmes of care.
- Evidence of maintaining clinical competence and keeping up to date with clinical developments.
- Evidence of completed Level C Dysphagia Competencies (Dysphagia training and competency framework - RCSLT).
Desirable
- Advance practitioner competencies (or working towards) e.g. videofluroscopy.
- Experience in audit and research.
Skills and knowledge
Essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills including observation, listening and empathy skills.
- Collaborative team approach to working.
- Good analytical and clinical problem solving skills.
- Standard keyboard and IT skills.
- Awareness of the standards of record keeping.
Desirable
- Good working knowledge of software such as Excel and Powerpoint.
