Job Description Summary
The Senior Tax Manager – Planning & Operations is responsible for leading UK and cross-border tax planning, operational tax execution, and governance for the UK group, ensuring compliant, efficient outcomes aligned to business strategy. The role partners with Finance, Legal, Treasury, HR, Supply Chain, and business leaders to design and implement tax-efficient structures, manage operational tax processes, and drive continuous improvement in compliance, controls, and technology.
The manager oversees UK corporate tax, transfer pricing implementation, withholding taxes and operational readiness for new initiatives, while advising on transactions, funding, and supply-chain changes.
Success is measured by strong compliance, effective risk management, timely and value-add planning, and clear communication to both finance leadership and external stakeholders.
Job Description
Own the UK tax provision and return cycle
- Lead the end-to-end UK tax provision process and CT600 filings, ensuring accurate calculations, robust review, and timely submissions.
- Oversee anti-hybrid assessments and documentation, embedding controls to prevent disallowances and maintain audit-ready support.
Run UK group compliance frameworks
- Manage Corporate Interest Restriction compliance (modelling capacity, allocations, and returns), Group Relief strategy and claims, and the Group Payment Arrangement to optimize cash flow and accuracy.
- Maintain clear governance and calendars across all UK entities.
Drive cash tax forecasting with Finance
- Partner with FP&A to produce accurate short- and long-range UK cash tax forecasts, linking forecast drivers to P&L, capital plans, and transactional activity.
- Track forecast vs. actuals and update guidance for leadership and treasury.
