ROLE TITLE: Structural Engineer
Reporting Line
The Structural Engineer will report directly to the Head of Mechanical Systems, subject to change as the team grows over the next 12 months.
Departmental Overview
The Mechanical Systems department sits within the Technical Team and is responsible for delivering all mechanical design, engineering, and integration activities for our eFoiler® Propulsion and Primary / Secondary mechanical systems. The department is also critical for the delivery and performance of all Artemis Technologies vessels and is rapidly expanding its footprint within the company.
The Role
The Structural Engineer will contribute to the design and development of Artemis Technologies eFoilerTM with primary focus on mechanical systems structural engineering, working at a system level with Structural Engineering and Naval architecture departments.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Working with ATL design team, contribute to the structural engineering of the Artemis eFoilerTM vessels:
- Structural engineering of Artemis eFoilerTM (Propulsion and Mechanical Control Systems).
- Structural engineering of Vessel Mechanical Systems (steering, docking.)
- Structural engineering of Systems and components.
- Delivery of innovative 3D designs for components & assemblies, focused on lightweight and cost-effective components, using CATIA V6.
- Design, Check & Approval of structural components in accordance with ATL Approval processes.
- Carry out FEA and utilize hand calculations to verify designs as required.
- Timely delivery of design, 3D CAD and production drawings to support the Head of Drive Train Integration and Mechanical Systems & the team.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing department to deliver high-quality, cost- effective construction and engineering methods.
- Work closely with all members of the Technical Department to ensure the eFoilerTM package is of the highest standard.
Articulate written, visual, and verbal communicator. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
