An esteemed engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineer to support offshore drilling-related engineering activities from their Aberdeen office. This dynamic contract opportunity is ideal for engineers with expertise in offshore structures, drilling assets, mobile offshore units, or marine environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of key offshore assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support structural engineering activities for offshore drilling assets
- Assess structural integrity, repairs, modifications, and maintenance scopes
- Review offshore steelwork, secondary steel, and structural changes
- Liaise with operations, offshore teams, and multi-discipline engineering functions
- Produce or review calculations, reports, scopes of work, and technical documentation
- Support inspection findings, anomaly resolution, and ongoing asset integrity work
Experience & Requirements:
- Proven experience in structural engineering within offshore oil & gas, drilling, marine, or energy sectors
- Experience with offshore steel structures, structural assessments, modifications, or integrity work
- Familiarity with mobile offshore units, semi-submersibles, jack-ups, drilling facilities, or platform structures
- Strong understanding of offshore standards, classification, and verification environment
- Ability to collaborate with onshore and offshore stakeholders in an operational setting
