Salary: £28,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Purpose of the role

You will contribute to the delivery of various full-time programmes which are developed in partnership with renowned institutions such as Canterbury Christ Church University, Bath Spa University, St Mary's University Twickenham London, and others


The Registry at ESL is seeking an experienced Casework Officer to manage individual student academic cases, with a primary focus on academic appeals and academic misconduct.

The role involves conducting investigations in accordance with ESL and its academic partners' academic appeals procedures and disciplinary regulations. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, responsible for their own portfolio of casework and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.




Main duties and responsibilities

Case Management:

  • Handle individual student academic cases, including academic appeals and misconduct.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all cases in compliance with institutional policies.


Investigation & Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed investigations of student cases, gather relevant information, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Extract and analyse data to inform decisions and ensure adherence to regulations.


Stakeholder Liaison:

  • Communicate with students, staff, and academic partners regarding case processes and outcomes.
  • Provide guidance to students and staff on academic policies and procedures.


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all casework aligns with legislative and institutional requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with academic policies and identify areas for improvement.





Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent substantial experience in an office environment.
  • Proven experience managing office systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a complex schedule of activities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to extract and evaluate information for decision-making.
  • Proficiency in IT, including case management systems and standard office software.

  • Desirable Attributes:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.


    Other Duties and Requirements:

    • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties commensurate with the post's level of responsibility and experience as required.
    • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasionally outside normal office hours.
    • Travel: Occasional travel to partner institutions or relevant events may be required.
