The Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the planning and successful delivery of our projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing day-to-day site operations, supervising direct and subcontracted teams
- Ensuring Health, Safety, and Welfare standards are maintained in accordance with the Supervisors Health and Safety Responsibility Statement
- Implementing all company and client health, safety, and environmental initiatives
- Reporting and addressing any unsafe practices
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and best practices
- Leading, supervising, and utilising resources effectively to meet project goals
- Delivering projects on time and within budget, compliant with all relevant legislation, contract terms, and safety/environmental plans
- Ensuring quality standards are met first time, every time
- Monitoring progress and managing scope changes
- Maintaining accurate records (diaries, allocation sheets, plant logs)
- Providing regular progress reports to the Project Manager/Site Agent
- Escalating unresolved issues appropriately
- Identifying training needs for operational personnel
Candidate Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Previous railway experience as a Supervisor in civils projects
- Valid PTS certification
- COSS
- SSSTS
- Demonstrable experience and competencies relevant to the rail industry
- A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in civil engineering
