The postholder will be a key support role responsible for the day-to-day operational management of delegated areas of responsibility. This will include management of urgent and elective access targets to ensure these are met in all specialties.
The postholder will provide visible and effective leadership, working collaboratively with clinical, operational, and directorate colleagues to manage capacity, reduce waiting times, support staff development, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. The role also includes budgetary responsibility, involvement in business planning, and oversight of governance and patient experience within the service line.

Operational
a) Day to day operational management of services, including delivery of clinics, theatres, diagnostics, patient flows and administrative functions to achieve, for example, urgent access times and pathway improvements
b) Ensuring all waiting lists/PTLs and data quality reports are managed as per Trust guidelines, communicating complex information to a rage of stakeholders
c) Ensuring the consultant rota is up to date and accurate
d) Maintaining an overview of the junior doctor rotas, offering advice and support to management and rota office team with regard to leave, sickness.
e) The timely and reasonable resolution of all theatre and outpatient issues using but not exhausted by emergencies, flexible session utilisation, leave, and sickness
f) To ensure all standard access targets are met for all specialties in elective inpatient, daycase, cancer, outpatient and diagnostics
