Systems Design Engineer – £45,000 – £55,000 – Warwick (Hybrid)
I’m working with a leading organisation who are looking to bring in a Systems Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on vehicle systems design, integration, and validation across next-generation platforms.
You’ll be working across electrical, mechanical, and software systems, supporting everything from design through to commissioning and testing, alongside an experienced team on high-profile projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, integration, and validation of vehicle systems
- Capture and manage system requirements from stakeholders
- Develop system architectures and electrical schematics
- Support commissioning, start-up, fault finding, and DVP&R activities
- Apply V-model validation methods
- Work closely with stakeholders and support junior engineers
- Support off-site testing and integration when required
Key experience required:
- Background in systems engineering or automotive development
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems and integration
- Experience managing requirements through to testing
- Hands-on testing / validation experience (vehicle or rig-based)
- Knowledge of V-model and DVP&R
- Ability to produce electrical schematics
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Relevant engineering degree
Desirable:
ISO 26262 / functional safety
CANbus experience
Systems modelling tools
Automotive control systems or heavy vehicle background
