About This Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Ormiston Victory is an innovative, positive and ambitious academy which is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Science for a September 2026 start.

A physics specialism is preferred, but we would happily consider other applicants from either newly qualified or experienced teachers. We offer an excellent induction package for all new staff, led by a member of the senior leadership team and supported by personal mentors.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding professional who takes pride in their work and is determined to develop the teaching of science so that students of all abilities enjoy their learning and are motivated to succeed.

We believe in working hard to ensure our students enjoy their learning and this is reflected in the excellent enrichment opportunities available. We value our staff and recognise their hard work to provide the best education for our learning community.

The science department has a reputation for excellence with consistently high results reflecting the quality of teaching and learning. The successful applicant will work with a committed team to shape and deliver a programme of curricular and professional development, thus steering the area to even greater success.

There has never been a more exciting time to be at Ormiston Victory Academy. Students and staff are at the heart of the academy, and we are committed to providing our Victory community with a vast range of opportunities. The academy incorporates the successful and growing Lord Nelson Sixth Form College and has strong links with the University of East Anglia. Joining Ormiston Victory Academy, all members of staff have access to a first-rate induction programme, staff development and the opportunity to shape the future of the academy. We expect nothing short of excellence from all our staff, in return, we offer a fantastic place to work and make a difference.

If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, you can be sure of a role with purpose and meaning.

Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys…

  • The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive
  • Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve
  • Being part of a team and community where you belong – receiving bespoke and holistic support from a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities

  • Is dynamic, innovative, self-motivated and able to inspire others.
  • Has the ability to teach outstanding lessons across the age (11-18) and ability range.
  • Is committed to raising standards of attainment and developing the success of the department.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and demonstrates reflective practice through the high expectations they have of themselves and the students.
