Lift New Rickstones is graded ‘Good’ (November 2023) and has a state of the art building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 8 years the school has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The school is a popular choice in the local area, is oversubscribed, and has added another new building to meet this demand.

About The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Social Sciences to join our successful and well established department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is eager to deliver high quality lessons and inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of society, human development and behaviour.

Our Social Sciences department is a popular and successful area of the curriculum, offering a broad range of subjects at KS4 and KS5 including Health and Social Care, Child Development, Sociology and Psychology. The department provides students with a strong understanding of human development and behaviour, exploring physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth, alongside how individuals interact with services, institutions and society. Learning is rooted in real world contexts, combining applied knowledge, practical activities and research based approaches to develop students’ skills in analysis, observation, evaluation and evidence-based thinking. The department supports progression to further and higher education and prepares learners for future careers across education, healthcare, social care and related professions.

About You

You will be a passionate teacher of Social Sciences with relevant classroom experience and a strong commitment to delivering high quality teaching and learning.
