We have an exciting opportunity within the Virtual School Sensory Support (VSSS) for a Teacher for the Vision Impaired.
Norfolk's VSSS is located within the Inclusion and Belonging Directorate and works closely with wider SEND and inclusion teams and services across Children's Services. The VSSS has a strong local and national reputation and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people who are blind, vision impaired and/or deaf. The service consists of Qualified Teachers, Specialist Support Assistants, the habilitation team and a technology/resources team.
A willingness to undertake the mandatory qualification to become a teacher of children and young people with vision impairment is essential. As is the ability to demonstrate the skills and understanding to effectively step into this role, with a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to plan creatively and work in partnership with parents, carers, educational settings and health and social care colleagues successfully are also essential for this role.
