Job Description

We need managers to:

  • Lead and inspire a team of social workers to safeguard children and promote their well-being
  • Drive change as part of a forward-thinking management team
  • Connect with people to strengthen our community and build relationships which our children and young people are part of
  • Empower children and young people to be part of their community by involving them in our work giving them power and choice wherever possible
  • Collaborate across teams and community organizations with an open, generous, and curious mindset
  • Innovate and try new approaches to better serve our children, young people and families
  • Manage resources effectively to achieve our goals.

Managers will be expected to attend the office to support their social workers and staff three days a week in the office.

Team Managers will report directly to the Head of Service, and you can expect to receive support from them to help you to grow and develop in the role and determine your management style. Ealing Council has an excellent training program and offers coaching support for managers new to the council. We would welcome applications from deputy team managers who have the relevant skills and experience to take this step up in their management career.

Essential Qualification/membership Required

  • Professional social work qualification: CQSW, DipSW, CCETSW approved equivalent, social work degree
  • Social Work England social worker registration.
