Role Purpose

The Technical Clerk will provide administrative and technical support to ensure smooth project operations across Laker Vent Engineering NE Region. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting project documentation processes, and assisting with workforce administration. This position is well‑suited to someone who is organised, detail‑focused, and confident using modern digital tools.

The role offers valuable exposure to project delivery, technical documentation, and compliance processes and an opportunity to work within a growing engineering business with strong regional presence.


Key Responsibilities


Project & Technical Administration

  • Assist in the receipt, tracking, and filing of project documentation.
  • Support the compilation of final project document packs, ensuring all required documents are complete, accurate, and properly formatted.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems in line with company procedures.


Workforce Administration

  • Enter weekly timekeeping hours accurately into designated database.
  • Process new starter information, including completing and filing new starter forms.
  • Maintain and update employee training records, including filing training certificates and ensuring records remain current.


Systems & Data Management

  • Manage documents, folders, and workflows using SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) to prepare, edit, and organise documents and communications.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliant handling of sensitive information.


Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Good computer literacy, with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Confident using SharePoint and OneDrive for managing documents and digital workflows.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop within the role.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in an engineering or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with document control processes and systems.
  • Understanding of project lifecycles and technical documentation requirements.
