Holyhead Port services two ferry operators via two RoRo berths. In addition, the port attracts cruise ship calls and supports cargo operations via its deep-water jetty. As Technical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the port’s infrastructure, assets and facilities are maintained safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while supporting long-term operational objectives across the Irish Sea business.
Some Of Your Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and support the Technical Services Team and third-party contractors, providing clear direction and priorities
Plan, control and monitor all maintenance activities to ensure delivery is safe, on time, on budget and fully compliant
Take full ownership of the maintenance budget, ensuring value for money and alignment with operational priorities
Maintain the condition, appearance and lifecycle management of port assets, buildings and infrastructure
Collaborate with the Port Operations Manager, Harbour Master and key stakeholders to align priorities
Drive improvements in maintenance efficiency, systems and reporting
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
Manage incident reporting, risk identification and investigation processes
Ensure employees are supported with clear Health & Safety and operational guidance
Oversee maintenance planning aligned to long-term asset strategies
Manage the port vehicle fleet in line with legislative and company standards
Support wider Irish Sea region activities as required

Qualifications
HND or equivalent in Civil, Maintenance or related Engineering discipline
Experience in infrastructure and asset management, ideally within a port or marine environment
Familiarity with planned maintenance or asset management systems
Experience leading teams and managing contractors
Project management exposure
Budget management and cost control experience
Experience managing suppliers or service providers
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and regulatory requirements
Fluency in English
Full UK driving licence
