Job Overview
We are looking for a results-driven and technically competent Technical Tendering Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing the technical aspects of the tendering process to ensure our proposals meet client expectations and demonstrate our technical capabilities. You will be responsible for preparing detailed technical proposals for both Process & Pipeline departments, cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Proposal Development & Support:
- Draft detailed technical documents consisting of proposals, equipment lists / CTR’s associated with Process & Pipeline services, including method statements, work plans, and technical clarifications as determined by customers ITT requirements.
- Interpret client technical specifications, engineering drawings, and requirements to develop comprehensive technical proposals.
- Collaborate with Process & Pipeline engineering teams to gather necessary technical input for bids when required.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all technical proposals comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
- Perform thorough reviews of technical documents to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Stay current with relevant industry standards and best practices.
Commercial Support:
- Provide input into tendering commercials, P&L reviews and ensure proposals are competitive.
- Attending proposal commercial reviews and provide input where possible.
- Identify equipment OPEX opportunities for projects.
Technical Support and Client Interaction:
- Provide technical support at client’s meetings when required.
- Assist with providing responses to technical queries and clarifications from clients promptly and accurately.
- Develop strong relationships with clients to foster trust and ensure a clear understanding of technical requirements.
Post-Tender Activities:
- Conduct in-depth technical reviews of awarded contracts and projects to ensure all technical aspects are clearly defined and understood.
- Participate in kick-off meetings and provide technical handover to project execution teams.
- Analyse feedback from previous bids to identify areas for technical improvement in future tenders.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and enhance technical tendering processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices in technical proposal writing, cost estimation, and risk assessment.
- Work with Supplychain to identify alternative suppliers and best price.
- Work with tendering department to develop work method that brings efficiencies to the tendering team i.e. process flow.
Operational Engineering:
- The reviewing of technical/billable operational procedures as and when required.
- Completion of MRs and all operational documentation as and when required.
- To fully assist project teams, supply chain and any and all operational duties as directed by the line manager out with tendering duties during non-tender periods. Time writing to project codes for traceability.
