Description

Are you a studying to become a teacher? Do you hold a TEFL/TESOL qualification? Are you looking for seasonal teaching work through the summer holidays?


If you answered yes to any of these, then you could be perfect as one of our ‘TEFL Leaders” this summer! To be a member of Team NSX, you need to have:

  • Our TEFL Leaders are responsible for delivering engaging, interactive and supportive English language lessons as well as supervising English+ activity sessions at NSX Summer schools.


    Being at a summer school, language lessons and activity sessions should be fun, inspiring confidence for the students in your care, with the goal being improved conversation and comprehension. Often your class will include students from different nationalities, although approximately all of the same English level, after being tested on arrival. You will work with NSX teaching material, which you can make your own during lesson planning. During activity sessions, your responsibilities will be to encourage everyone speaks English, and activities include a range of arts & crafts, teambuilding and sports.


    You can expect:

    • Full training provided
    • First Aid training and a relevant qualification
    • To get paid for all contracted work and any pre-agreed lesson planning
    • Full board accommodation (3 meals a day and a bed on-site)*
    • Variety - no two days the same
    • On-site support 24/7
    • On rota for 2 out of 3 sessions per day (morning, afternoon and evening), with 1 evening and 1 full day off a week.
    • To be considered for additional work around the year
    • Accommodation is on-site. This position requires you to reside on-site during employment. Our locations are based in Woodbridge School (Suffolk) & Millfield School (Somerset).


    What we expect from you?

    • To deliver fun, engaging and welcoming English lessons to children from different nationalities via the NSX curriculum (with the scope to get creative if you wish)
    • To deliver NSX activity sessions for children of multiple nationalities in accordance with the training you receive.
    • To effectively ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your supervision
    • To have an enthusiastic, self-motivated approach to delivering a great experience for all
  • To deliver excursions safely and securely to local towns, attractions and cities.
  • A caring and empathetic willingness to support children who are away from home.
  • A professional, welcoming and supportive attitude working with visiting group leaders.
  • To become familiar with our Safeguarding Policy and report any concerns appropriately
  • A desire to work effectively as part of a team, taking responsibility where necessary.


  • For all the cogs to be working in unison during a summer school, we work collaboratively so that each NSX team member to pull together using their individual skills to make the team the best it can be – so if you have any particular skills in the following areas, make sure to let us know at interview stage!


    • Are you always looking out for others? Making sure everyone is happy, and ok? Can you relate to children and teenagers?
    • Do you thrive on organisation? Do you enjoy problem solving and have great attention to detail?
    • Do you love meeting new people, making them feel comfortable and welcome? Are you a great listener? Can you manage issue resolution in a friendly and professional manner?
  • Are you a natural leader? Are you a clear communicator and good timekeeper? Are you good with directions and feel confident visiting new places?
  • Are you passionate about a certain sport, hobby or activity? Do you have previous experience working as an instructor?

    Training

    Following a successful application, you will be invited attend mandatory training prior to the summer commencing, this may be online and/or in person.

    This will include safeguarding children and the NSX curriculum.


    About NSX

    NSX is an independent summer language school provider with 4 centres across England. Our summer schools are open for 4 weeks during July and August and we have children aged 8 to 17 attending from all over the world. During their stay, the children will participate in interactive English lessons, activities and sports, as well as embark on day trip excursions to local towns and cities.

    We are professional, agile and inclusive, and our management team have been operating in the study travel industry since 2002. We pride ourselves on having a team culture, where the primary objective is to deliver a memorable experience for children with exceptional customer service.
