We have a unique opportunity to offer roles within the Chief Operating Office that will help shape the future of Royal London, across several disciplines.
Our Chief Operating Office (COO) works across Royal London to help deliver the Group’s strategic ambitions. We work in partnership to deliver operational excellence, drive innovation, enhance customer experience, and protect our business from threats impacting our industry.
We are the largest business unit within Royal London, bringing together thousands of colleagues to look after millions of customers to deliver great outcomes for customers. Our business focuses on aligning colleagues, applications and projects with our three value streams: Long-Term Savings, Protection & Equity Release, and Long-Standing Customers & Annuities. This role is within the Individual Long-Term Savings value stream.
A Test Manager is required to manage and co-ordinate test activities across complex change deliveries, involving multiple teams and applications, in line with business priorities, technical roadmaps and broader strategic goals. To build and enhance test capabilities for the value stream, in relation to people, processes and technology, including recruitment, test strategy and test automation with some line management accountabilities.

- We are seeking a test manager to manage and coordinate test activities at the LTS value stream level.
About The Role
- Define and own the test strategy for the value stream.
- Accountable for ensuring test governance in line with the defined strategy for all change initiatives under the value stream.
- Manage third party test teams and testers at a value stream level, ensuring clear allocation of responsibilities and alignment with delivery timelines.
- Collaborate and build trusting relationships with engineering leads, change managers, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide holistic reporting on testing, risks, and issues within the value stream to senior stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement in testing practices, tools, and automation, using key test metrics to drive the improvements roadmap.
- Line management of value stream level test roles and oversight of third-party roles.
About You
You will have:
- Proven experience in test management across large-scale change initiatives, ideally including system migrations and major upgrades.
- a strong understanding of testing methodologies and highly skilled in the test discipline.
- Proven experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Proven experience of enhancing test capabilities and delivering strategic improvements.
- Detailed understanding of performance optimisation and ensuring security and compliance using Azure tools.
- Significant experience of managing test, in both a matrix management and direct fashion, including coaching and mentoring.
