Theatre Practitioner- Plymouth

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

Salary £42,128.42 p.a.

25 days annual leave (increasing by 1 day at 3,5,10 and 15 years of employment ) + BANK holidays

Practice Plus Group is one of England’s largest independent providers of self-pay, insured and NHS healthcare. Practice Plus Group Hospital Plymouth has a CQC Good rating and provides excellent healthcare to the population of Plymouth and the south west region, including Cornwall, Isles of Scilly and all of Devon. We are an elective surgical centre providing arthroplasty surgery, orthopaedics, general surgery, endoscopy and cataract surgery. The clinical departments include Outpatients, Day Surgery Unit, 30-bed Inpatient Ward, 4 Theatres, Endoscopy suite, Radiography, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy, with care provided by a multidisciplinary team.

What you'll be doing

To actively participate in and maintain the highest standard of care and safety for patients, visitors and staff in the operating theatre department. To act as a skilled & effective practitioner within the Operating Department.

The role has clinical, teaching, and staff development responsibilities. A detailed list of the responsibilities of each can be found in the attached job description.

The role involves working 4 days per week from Monday -Saturday,
07:30 - 17:30.

What we'll look for in you

  • Satisfactory Occupational Health clearance for the role specified.
  • Good attendance record.
  • RN/ODP
  • Worked in a theatre environment for minimum of 1 year.
  • Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding and commitment to IPR (Individual Performance Review).
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own and others workload when under pressure.

In addition to the above skills and knowledge, it would be desirable to have:

  • Research/audit skills & experience. Experience of the following specialities: Orthopaedics, General, Plastics, ENT, GU, Endoscopy, Ophthalmics
  • Independent sector experience
  • Knowledge/Experience of clinical supervision.
  • Knowledge of change management theory.
