Main duties of the job

The post holder will be undertaking Apprentice Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) training programme. They will undertake a period of full or partial supervised practice that will support the completion of clinical competencies relevant to the Band 7 role in order to progress into a Band 8A Advanced Clinical Practitioner. They will be working towards becoming an integral member of the medical team working collaboratively with nursing and allied healthcare professionals undertaking advanced clinical practice that has traditionally been within the remit of medical staff with an appropriate level of supervision until deemed competent. The Apprentice ACP will observe advanced practices and work fully supervised until assessed as competent, within agreed protocols and guidelines in history taking, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of critically or acutely ill or injured patients who may have highly complex acute presentation to the more minor common illnesses and injuries. The post will have a primary location but may extend and influence across PAH including adult inpatient wards working at all times under an appropriate level of supervision as part of the training programme

• Msc in Advance practice or working towards
• Management qualification /experience

Desirable

• Non-Medical prescriber course or working towards
• Leadership course

Experience

Essential

• Working autonomously in an advanced clinical role in Orthopaedics at band 7 or above

Supervising and assessing in a clinical setting,

Workforce planning for nurse led clinics

Desirable

• Worked as clinical nurse specialist in Specialist Service (Desirable)
• Clinical audit and research
