This post offers advanced specialist training in Oculoplastics, and will be primarily based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Some clinical work may be undertaken at other sites such as the EMPCC. The post is to commence as soon as possible for a fixed-term period of one year.
The Leicester Royal Infirmary provides the Ophthalmology service for Leicestershire, a district with a population of over one million. The successful applicant will acquire advanced skills in the latest oculoplastic techniques. The Fellow in Oculoplastics will have the opportunity to participate in the care of all patients requiring tertiary referral expertise from this catchment area and from surrounding areas.
The post is suitable for an Ophthalmologist nearing the end of their training or already in possession of CCT. It offers post accreditation experience beyond traditional UK registrar rotations for ophthalmologists wishing to specialise in Oculoplastics.
The successful candidate will work closely alongside our Oculoplastics consultants; Mr Raghavan Sampath, Mrs Joyce Burns and Mrs Antonella Berry-Brincat, and will be expected to make a substantial contribution to research and training in the department.
