Walton Lodge Veterinary Group have a fantastic opportunity for an eager Veterinary Care Assistant to join our current nursing and reception team. This is a fixed-term role lasting approximately 6 months.
Duties will include:
Our Small Animal Vet Services at Walton Lodge Ware provide comprehensive first-opinion veterinary care for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other common domestic species. We promote responsible pet ownership, with a particular emphasis on preventive healthcare. We pride ourselves on our skilled team, and providing first-class quality customer service to you is our priority.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about pets and their welfare and enjoy working as part of a team providing exceptional service to our clients. Experience is not required, but would be advantageous. Full on-the-job training will be provided.
Your shift pattern
You will work 40 hours per week, covering shifts Monday - Friday with a rotation of shifts between 8 am and 7 pm.
In addition to a competitive salary, you will benefit from:
Duties will include:
- Animal handling and restraint
- Inpatient care
- Pharmacy duties, order unpacking and stock rotation
- Reception cover
- Assisting with in-house laboratory tests
- General assistance of nurses and vets
- Cleaning and care of equipment, including maintenance and sterilisation of veterinary instruments
- Helping maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout all clinical areas, including laundry duties
