This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officer within the Adult Deaf and Visual Impairment Service (ADVIS). ADVIS is a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers, Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officers, Enablement Officers, and specialist Promoting Independence Workers for Deaf BSL users and Deafblind people. The team are enthusiastic, supportive, and committed to improving the lives of people in Nottinghamshire living with Sight loss, Deafness or Dual Sensory loss.
You will be enthusiastic, motivated, and organised in your approach to delivering a quality service, be competent in communicating with the people we work with, their carers and other professional colleagues and be confident in making sound decisions.
You will undertake specialist assessments of the rehabilitation needs of visually impaired and/or dual sensory impaired people and be aware of their carers needs.
The aim of the service is to ensure people can live independently at home by delivering rehabilitation services.
ADVIS is a countywide service and based at Sherwood Energy Village in Ollerton, however, we offer a hybrid working model with the opportunity to work from home and office bases across the county. The post carries a casual user car allowance or taxi service for disabled employees, the applicant will need a full driving licence and access to the use of a car (except where a disability precludes this).
The successful candidate will be given a comprehensive induction to this specialist role and training will be provided.
