Volunteer Worker - Older Adults (65+)

At Change Grow Live, we believe that people can change their lives when they are met with compassion, expertise and the right support. Our RISE service in Ealing is committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive substance misuse services that respond to the needs of people across the life course.

We are looking for Volunteer Support Workers to take a support role within our multidisciplinary team and support the development of our specialist Older Adults Addictions Pathway in a two year Pilot.

About the role

As a Volunteer Support Worker, you will work with older adults (65+) with complex substance use, physical health, mental health and social care needs.

You will support the Older Adult Pathway Senior Recovery Worker with their specialist caseload as they provide age-informed, evidence-based interventions, while supporting colleagues and contributing to service quality and development.

This is a vital role in improving access, experience and outcomes for older adults affected by substance use.

Location
In-Person Across the Ealing Borough

Hours Minimum 15 - Maximum 37.5 hours per week

You will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team of Recovery Practitioners, Doctors, Nurses, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists, to deliver high quality provision from point of entry into RISE.

You will support with

  • Clients treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing support to Team members with screening, assessment, pharmacological support, psychosocial support - cognitive & behavioural based interventions motivational interviewing interventions
  • Recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users & the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user & community involvement


You will need to work flexibly across the local community with hours to suit service needs.

The team is peripatetic rather than hub based so all team members work in a variety of venues, including; Substance Misuse Hubs, Older Adult Community Mental Health Services, GP Surgeries, and Supported/Care Accommodations.

We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, Reflective Practice / Clinical Supervision and have a Team member on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance.
