Waste Lead| Spire Methley Park | Competitive Salary |Part Time-15 Hours | Excellent Benefits
We have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Lead to join our Spire Methley Park hospital. This role will support our line managers to ensure that the operational Management of Waste in use at the facility is managed with the aim of ensuring a safe workplace for all employees.
Spire Methley Park Hospital situated in Methley in South Leeds, has recently completed a 7.6 million refurbishment, which included a new theatre equipped with cutting-edge technology enabling us to carry out complex surgery across a variety of clinical specialties. At Spire Methley Park Hospital caring for our patients is at the heart of what we do. We provide expert medical care in our modern, well-equipped hospital for all of our patients.
Duties and responsibilities;
- Support and advise staff in Waste Management processes against waste regulations, Legislation, HTM 07-01 and WM01 policy
- Ensuring that there are suitable and sufficient storage arrangements for different types of waste
- Ensure that there are suitable and sufficient and clinical, Dry Mixed and Recycling general waste bins in place around the hospital
- Ensure there are recycling processes in place. In line with all waste initiatives
- Attending training for conducting Waste audits and assessments as requested.
- Conducting regular waste meetings agreed with the Hospital Director and Health and Safety
- Participation in quarterly health and safety inspections, and spot inspections for compliance to safe storage and disposal of waste
- Completion of an annual internal waste compliance audit and submission of report to the Central Health and Safety team
- Attend training and conference calls as and when required
- Provide internal training and communication on different types of waste procedures to all departments within the facility
- To provide support to ensure that working practices are established for employees and contractors working at the facility are in accordance with WM 01 Waste Management Policy
- Coordinate the implementation of WM 01 Waste Management Policy within Spire Healthcare facilities
