National Museums Scotland is currently looking for
Welcome Volunteers at our
National Museum of Rural Life (near East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire).
We are looking for enthusiastic, honest and friendly individuals to join our
Visitor Experience team in making people feel welcome at our unique visitor attraction.
The National Museum of Rural Life is a large site encompassing an exhibition building, playpark, 1950’s farmhouse and a traditional working farm.
We are looking for people who can be a friendly face, to meet our visitors as they arrive, with a warm greeting and information to help them enjoy their visit.

- Signposting the day’s highlights
- Encouraging visitors to make the most of their visit.
This role may suit you if you
- Are interested in Scottish rural life or history
- Are friendly and approachable
- Are looking for opportunities to meet new people.
When is it?
Volunteering hours are negotiable. Ideally, we are hoping our successful volunteers would be able to provide us with a morning, lunchtime or afternoon slot most weeks until October.
