NCC East are looking for a passionate and dedicated Welfare Officer to join our team on a fixed term basis to cover a period of maternity leave and play a key role in supporting our learners' well-being and development.
You’ll bring a positive, proactive approach, supporting individual needs while promoting independence, confidence and personal development. As a self‑starter and motivator, you’ll help shape positive behaviours and attitudes, building learners’ resilience and essential work and life skills.
Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8am – 4pm and Fridays 8am to 1:30pm
Contract: Fixed Term (12 months maternity cover)
Grade: TM3
Target Salary: £35,180 per annum
Location: NCC East, Bircham Newton, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE31 6RH
Special Requirements: Full driving licence, preferably with D1 (minibus)

About the Role
As a Welfare Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and safeguarding of our residential learners. From providing pastoral and mental health support to delivering engaging on‑ and off‑site activities, you’ll help create a safe, positive and enriching learner experience.
Working as part of a dedicated Welfare team, you’ll liaise closely with colleagues, parents/carers, employers and external agencies. Safeguarding sits at the heart of the role, and you’ll take a proactive approach to keeping learners safe and supported.
You’ll also bring strong organisation and administration skills, confidently managing your time and using a range of systems to maintain accurate welfare, compliance and Health & Safety records.
