Salary from £30,400 with up to 10% Annual Bonus and Single Healthcare

Purpose

Join us as a Workshop Assistant.

ScottishPower Technical Training require a Workshop Assistant to support the delivery of high‑quality Craft training across our business units and service partners.


This is a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy working in a workshop environment, taking pride in maintaining safe and efficient spaces, looking to grow their skills through formal training and development.



Responsibilities

As Workshop Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our Trainers deliver outstanding Technical and Craft programmes. Daily, you’ll maintain a safe working environment, complying with UK Health & Safety legislation and ScottishPower policies, support the preparation, setup and maintenance of tools, equipment and training areas whilst helping manage stock, tools and procurement activities which ensure the workshop is fully equipped.


Assisting Trainers during practical demonstrations and supervising Trainees under guidance, you will help prepare training materials (written, digital and practical) ensuring sessions run smoothly.


Contributing ideas to improve workshop activities, learning materials and practical tasks, you will use your practical skills to support repairs, maintenance and improvements to workshop equipment and training rigs.



What you’ll bring

Bringing practical ability, good judgement, enthusiasm and strong teamwork skills, you will possess good communication skills and confidence in engaging with Trainers, departments and delegates.


With a sound understanding of workplace Health and Safety, you will hold basic IT skills which includes Email, Microsoft Excel and company systems.


Utilising good hand skills, you will be comfortable using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment with confidence in all practical tasks, including equipment setup, basic repairs and supporting new build or improvement activities.


Displaying strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise tasks throughout the working day, you will use initiative to work independently within your competency, with a desire to upskill and broaden your technical knowledge.


A driving licence and willingness to drive a company vehicle when required is desirable.
