Band 6 Renal Dietitian

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 Dietitian to join our team of 5 renal dietitians on a full time, permanent basis. Full renal training, clinical supervision and wider therapies support will be provided for candidates not familiar with the renal specialty, but keen to learn new competencies. The post holder will be responsible for the management of patients on the renal inpatient wards, patients on dialysis, as well as carrying a clinical outpatient caseload. The role is one of an expert practitioner who works autonomously as well as part of a team.

Qualifications

Essential

• Relevant degree or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics
• HCPC registered
• Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable

• Post registration training relevant to the post
• Member of the British Dietetic Association

Experience

Essential

• Demonstrable post qualification clinical experience

Understanding of the importance of effective multidisciplinary working

Experience in teaching/training other health professionals

Desirable

• Some previous experience with renal conditions
• Student training experience
• Audit experience

Knowledge

Essential

• Knowledge of clinical practice relevant to the role
• Knowledge of issues relating to the delivery of a dietetic service
• Knowledge of guidelines e.g. NICE, ESPEN relevant to the role
