You will be an experienced and independent practitioner, responsible for delivering a wide range of complex cardiac diagnostic investigations and procedures, both invasive and non-invasive, across various clinical settings.

The role involves active participation in the delivery of the 24/7 PPCI service (which includes participation in the on-call rota)
Provide mentorship and training of junior staff and students, and continuous contribution to service development and innovation.

Actively participate in a range of clinical service areas to include 12 lead ECG, ambulatory monitoring, physiology-led exercise tolerance testing, Cardiac TILT testing, cardiac angiography and cardiac rhythm management.
To perform and supervise the recording of electrocardiograms for adult patients.
To fit & remove Ambulatory Holter monitoring, BP and PADs. This will include the explanation of the use and care of the equipment to the patients and dealing with any queries that this may raise.
Competent in Holter recordings, tape and IRL analysis.
To work as an independent practitioner to produce reports on diagnostic tests.
Make judgements regarding the patient, based on the history or the results of the investigations performed. The post holder would need to interpret complex data and alert referring medical staff of urgent clinical problems.
To provide technical support during pacing and routine cardiac catheterization. This would include performing left heart catheters, performing right heart catheters; perform blood gas analysis as required for RHC, elective PCI & complex cases such as IVUS,
Responsible for the technical set up of the cases to include the check of the resuscitation trolley, to assist with set up & maintenance in Cath-labs as required, assist with resuscitation & temporary pacing as required
Recognises clinically significant deterioration of patients, or significant abnormalities in diagnostic investigations, in patients undergoing procedures under their supervision. Takes timely action, appropriately escalating to Cardiology team or working with other agencies as required.
Recognises, responds to and appropriately manages emergency situations, such as cardiac/cardio-pulmonary arrest or other life-threatening scenarios.
Responsible for delivering a wide range of complex cardiac diagnostic investigations and procedures, both invasive and non-invasive. This will involve interpreting diagnostic tests and interrogating complex implantable electronic devices.
As an independent practitioner the post holder will be responsible for highlighting any issues or untoward results regarding patient care and relevant diagnostic reports.
Responsible for the patients in their care either individually or as a shared responsibility with other technical colleagues or with medics.
