An exciting seconded opportunity covering maternity leave has arisen to provide nursing on a busy Ear, Nose and Throat, Maxillofacial and surgical ward alongside a reginal clinic
Our ward has 24 beds and undertakes a wide variety of ENT/MaxFax surgical procedures plus Tracheostomies and Laryngectomies. We are looking for someone who is caring, compassion and a hardworking, flexible member of staff to join our team.
The position will include supporting the Senior Sister with the day to day running of the ward and driving the division forward. You will provide a high standard of care to patients as well as acting as a role model for junior staff.
Successful applicants will work within their teams to provide a high quality, safe care environment, for patients with a range of conditions as well as elective and emergency surgery. They will also be required to undertake complex dressings and manage altered airway patients including the planning of their discharge home effectively.

Qualifications
Essential
- Current 1 st level NMC registration
- Nursing Diploma
- Recognised post qualification teaching/mentorship qualification
Experience
Essential
- Proven ability and experience within the medical setting
- Significant experience of facilitating learning in clinical practice including formal teaching
- Evidence of extended skills, IE, Venepuncture, cannualtion
Desirable
- Experience of change management
- Evidence of tracheostomy competencies
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of research and audit
- Awareness of current political issues and change within the NHS
