Who can apply
We’re looking for:
• Registered Nurses (RMN or RNLD)
• With experience in mental health or learning disabilities settings

The role
As a Charge Nurse at Selden Centre, you’ll combine clinical expertise with day-to-day leadership, helping ensure safe, high-quality care for people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
You will:
• Take charge of shifts, leading and coordinating the ward team
• Deliver and oversee evidence-based, person-centred care
• Undertake assessments, care planning and risk management
• Act as Primary Nurse for a defined group of patients
• Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students
• Work closely with families, carers and the wider MDT

The setting
Selden Centre is a 10-bed Assessment and Treatment Unit supporting adults with learning disabilities across Sussex.
You’ll be part of a well-established multidisciplinary team, working in a setting that allows for:
• More time to build therapeutic relationships
• A strong focus on positive behaviour support and recovery
• Close collaboration across nursing, psychology and wider MDT
Working pattern
• 37.5 hours per week
• Internal rotation including days, nights and weekends
• 24-hour service environment
