Mansbridge Primary School are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and confidential Clerk to the Governing Board to support our committed governors in delivering strong governance across both schools.
About The Role
The Clerk to the Governors plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Governing Board. This includes providing professional clerking support, maintaining accurate records, and offering guidance to governors on statutory and procedural matters.

The Clerk to the Governors plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Governing Board. This includes providing professional clerking support, maintaining accurate records, and offering guidance to governors on statutory and procedural matters.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Preparing agendas in consultation with the Chair and Headteacher
- Attending and minuting governing board and committee meetings (evenings required)
- Providing advice on governance legislation, policy, and procedure
- Managing governor documentation, correspondence, and membership records
- Supporting the annual governance cycle, including policy schedules and statutory returns
- Ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism at all times

- Has excellent organisational and communication skills

WGB – 2 hours prep, 2 hours meeting, 2 hours minutes
PandP – 1 hour prep, 1 hour meeting, 1 hour minutes
Total = 45 hours per year
Additional meetings such as disciplinary panel meetings will be paid as overtime.
