We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Team Lead to join our growing ADHD Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an advanced practitioner and independent prescriber to combine clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, helping to shape and develop a high-quality, patient-centred service.
Working closely with the Clinical Manager, Clinical Lead and Service Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership to a multidisciplinary clinical team, supporting excellence in clinical practice, governance, quality improvement and staff development. You will play a key role in fostering a positive team culture, promoting professional growth, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of ADHD assessment, treatment and ongoing care.
This is a predominantly remote role, however, the successful candidate will be expected to attend our Segensworth office on an occasional basis for meetings, training, team events and other service requirements.

The Clinical Team Lead (CTL) is a clinical leadership role within the ADHD Service, working closely with the Clinical Manager, Clinical Lead, and Service Manager to ensure the effective, safe, and high quality delivery of the service.
The CTL is responsible for the line management of the clinical team, overseeing recruitment, induction, training, supervision, appraisal, and audit. Through regular one-to-one meetings and a compassionate, visible leadership style, the CTL supports team wellbeing to maintain a motivated, cohesive remote workforce focused on delivering excellent patient outcomes. The CTL acts as a key link between the clinical and operational teams, promoting a unified approach to service delivery.
As an experienced advanced practitioner and independent prescriber, the CTL brings a strong foundation in the four pillars of advanced practice: Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education, and Research. The CTL will develop specialist knowledge and competence in ADHD over time through structured support, supervision, and CPD. The CTL maintains regular clinic hours within their evolving scope, role-modelling professionalism and sound clinical judgement whilst growing their specialist expertise.
The CTL works collaboratively within the service leadership team to drive quality and governance objectives, contributing to a service that is safe, caring, responsive, effective, and well-led. The CTL deputises for the Clinical Manager to provide leadership continuity and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Clinical Leadership & Team Management
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and support to the clinical team, promoting a positive, inclusive working environment and a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Conduct regular clinical and managerial supervision, one-to-one meetings, and performance reviews, supporting the wellbeing and professional growth of all team members.
- Lead recruitment, selection, and induction processes, ensuring clinical staff are appropriately qualified, trained, and supported.
- Set clear objectives and monitor individual and team performance, facilitating appraisals and identifying development needs.
- Manage staff attendance, performance, and conduct, addressing concerns promptly and compassionately.
- Ensure all team members maintain mandatory training compliance and practise within their defined scope of clinical competence.
- Demonstrate and apply a comprehensive understanding of the professional, regulatory, and governance frameworks relevant to the service - including the NMC, GPhC, GMC, RPS, NICE, CQC, and applicable national and local policies - using this knowledge to provide informed leadership, support the team in meeting their professional obligations, and ensure the service operates within all required standards.
- Participate in service and management meetings, contributing to effective service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Deputise for the Clinical Manager as necessary, providing continuity of clinical leadership, supporting the team, and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Governance & Quality
- Support the Clinical Manager in maintaining robust clinical governance frameworks, including audit, incident reporting, complaints management, and safeguarding.
- Lead and participate in clinical audits, service evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring findings are acted upon and learning is embedded into practice.
- Contribute to the development and review of policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of complaints, incidents, and significant events, applying a just culture approach and ensuring learning is shared across the team.
- Identify and escalate clinical risk proactively, supporting a culture of patient safety and professional accountability.
- Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote and embed best practice across the clinical team.
Service Development
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Manager, Clinical Lead, and Service Manager to support service planning, pathway development, and quality improvement.
- Support the implementation of new pathways, models of care, and service improvement initiatives as directed by the Clinical Manager.
- Contribute to MDT meetings, care planning, and integrated working with external partners including GPs, secondary care, and community services.
- Represent the service professionally in relevant internal and external forums, engaging constructively with stakeholders at all levels.
Clinical Practice
-Undertake clinical practice within an evolving scope of competence, bringing advanced assessment skills including the interpretation of investigations such as blood test results and ECGs. These competencies are directly applicable to safe prescribing and medication monitoring within the ADHD care pathway, and structured supervision and support will be provided to develop ADHD-specific knowledge and skills over time.
- Manage a clinical caseload appropriate to current competency level, with complexity increasing progressively as expertise develops.
- Act as a clinical escalation point in areas of existing competence, working collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and Clinical Manager for ADHD-specific queries during the development period.
- Conduct and document medication reviews in line with RPS prescribing standards, developing familiarity with ADHD pharmacology, titration protocols, and monitoring requirements in accordance with NICE NG87.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care, working autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in line with relevant standards and legislation.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with professional, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
- Engage proactively with ADHD-specific CPD, training, and supervision, working towards full clinical competency in line with an agreed development plan.
- Actively participate in the duty clinician roster.
