Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Development Application Support (AI–based tools) / Enablement Engineer @ Glasgow, UK
Key area:
The Consultant will support global developer support, enablement, and scaled BAU rollout of approved generative AI–based development tools, following internal approvals and risk mitigations.
The role supports adoption and ongoing operations of tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, Cloud Agent, and upcoming tools (e.g., Codex, Grok Critique, Gemini Code Assist).
Focus is on scaling from pilot to enterprise BAU, including onboarding 500–1,000+ users per week, while ensuring stability, responsiveness, and strong developer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tiered (L1/L2) developer support for AI tools during rollout and BAU phases
- Support large-scale onboarding, enablement, and access provisioning
- Troubleshoot issues related to tool usage, workflows, integrations, and access; escalate as needed
- Support rollout of new tools (Q3/Q4) and transition to BAU
- Ensure operational continuity across time zones with proper handovers
- Contribute to reporting on adoption, issues, and support trends
Required Qualifications
- Experience 3-5 years in technical support, developer support, or similar roles
- Exposure to AI or developer productivity tools preferred
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of APIs, CLI tools, and developer workflows
- Understanding of authentication (SSO, tokens)Familiarity with Python/Bash and cloud basics (Azure/AWS/GCP)
Tools
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ticketing tools
Soft Skills
- Strong communication with technical users
- Ability to work in high-volume, global support environments
